DFA Philippine Passport Online Application and Requirements

With the DFA Online Passport Appointment process, applying for your Philippine passport has become easier.

No more long lines and hours of waiting! Hence, if you have been wanting to take advantage of all these international promo fares and travel deals but cannot because you don’t have a passport yet, well, time you get one!

This post looks into the Requirements and Guide to Philippine Passport Application.

1 Set up your appointment with the DFA

– Visit www.passport.gov.ph
– Click on “Schedule an Appointment” right at the top menu
– Tick off the Terms and Condition agreement box and then continue to start your appointment
– Choose a DFA site location, date and time of your appointment

2 Fill out the Application Form

– Enter your Personal and Family Information,
– Complete the Application Information Page (specify whether you are applying for a NEW PASSPORT or doing PASSPORT RENEWAL)
– Enter your Contact Details
– Review the information you had entered, make sure all data are ACCURATE before you submit your confirmation.

**You will  receive an email from DFA, make sure you click the link on this DFA email to confirm your appointment. Attached on the same email is a PDF copy of your appointment, download and print your Passport Application Form.

You will receive an email like this one below:

Click on the link, then copy and paste your Appointment Code and enter your Email Address on the linked page. You will then be able to view/download/cancel your appointment.

3 Prepare the required documents for passport application

Bring the following Passport Requirements with you:
– Printed copy of the Application Form.
– Birth Certificate issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority (on official security paper)
– Valid ID (at least one, check the list below) with photocopy
– Supporting Documents (at least 2 of those on the list below) and their photocopies.

**Those who are doing a PASSPORT RENEWAL, have to bring their most recent expiring or expired passport.

Here are the list of the Acceptable IDs you can use:

Government issued picture ID list:
Digitized SSS ID
Driver’s License
PRC ID
Digitized BIR ID
Voter’s ID
Senior Citizen’s ID

If you have the following, you can also use them:
Old College ID
Alumni ID
Old Employment IDs

Here are the list of the Supporting Documents you can bring with you:
PSA Marriage Contract
Elementary or High School Form 137 or College TOR
NBI Clearance
Police Clearance
Barangay Clearance
Digitized Postal ID
SSS-E1 Form
Voter’s Certification

4 Show up well before your scheduled time.

Important: If you think you are not able to show up on your appointment date, make sure you CANCEL the online application properly at least 3 days before your scheduled date. If you fail to cancel or show up on your appointment date, you may have issues on your future passport application.

To cancel your DFA Passport Appointment, just go to Schedule an Appointment > View Appointment on the DFA website and you will see the option to cancel this application.

      You can follow the same steps above for the Philippine Passport Renewal process. Just don’t forget to bring with you your most recent expiring or expired passport on your DFA appointment date.

    • hello, what if ito ang available id ko Pilheath id, voters certification, employment id, barangay id , old college id,,psa live birth, barangay clearance, sss-e1 at police clearance ok lang po ba ito mg apply ng passport>? i am new applicant po. Thanks

    • Hi Belen,
      You can find the available schedules for DFA Passport Renewal the same way as stated on the above post. Just visit the DFA website and click on “Schedule an Appointment” right at the top menu.

  3. Gusto ko lang pong magtanong paano.po lung.nsa ibang banda at nag tnt ngayon n expired n ang passport paano niya marerenew ang passport para makauwi na siya ng pinas?

    • Aside sa nakalistang requirements above, kailangan niyo po magdala ng Notarized Affidavit of Loss kung saan naka-detalye on when, where and how it got lost. Need niyo po din ng Police Report if ang Passport valid pa at hindi pa expired.

  7. Saan po ba pwedeng kumuha ng PSA Birth certificate? Meron po kasi ako na NSO lang, thankyou po sa sasagot. Need ko po sa 21 appointment ko.

    • Hi Gilbert, PSA is the new name for NSO – they just renamed the agency. If you got your Birth Certificate from NSO Online (now PSAHelpline.ph), then this is the PSA Birth Certificate on security paper (SECPA) that’s required and accepted for passport applications.

  8. Voter’s Id, Police & Brgy. Clearance, Nbi(receipt p lng po, 11 pa release) psa b.c, psa marriage contract, high school id, sss e1 form.

    Pwede na po ba yan? Tommorow na po appoinment. Ngdoubt po kasi ako baka di p acceptable yan. Thank u po

  10. Hello po paano ako mkakakuha ng passport sa 2 kids ko sa pinas dito kasi ako sa germany ano ano ang dapat kong gawin? Saba po masagot nyu katanongan ko!..

    • We recommend na asikasuhin niyo po muna ang Gender Correction sa Birth Certificate nyo dahil wrong gender din po ang mailalagay sa Passport at mas magkakaproblema pa kayo if may misentry sa NSO/PSA Birt Certificate na ibibigay niyo sa DFA.

    Ask ko po sana about sa passport ko, ng expire po May 14 2017 pwde paba renewal?? Or should I get a new one? Slamat po sa tutugon.

    • Passport Renewal po. Same requirements pa din as above but in addition, kailangan niyo po dalhin ang most recent expiring or expired passport and a photocopy of the data page and last page of the original passport.

Postal miron na din po ako PSA birthcertifacate my old ID po ako yung sa 4ps po nasunog po kasi bahay namin sa province po kaya wala po ako schools ID schedule ko na po kasi next month November 15 ok na po ba yun or my kulang pa po ako / thank you po..Wait ko po sagot nyo

  20. hello po ano po ang requiremets pag below 18..tapos walang parent na kasama kundi guardian lang po yung exact req na po sana para hindi pabalik balik at kung puede yung guardian ang ksama 15 at mag 17 na sila salamat..

    • No need for a diploma po, though a College TOR may be used as a supporting document. If you have the following, you can also use them as valid ID:
      Old College ID
      Alumni ID
      Old Employment IDs

    Can i ask? If pwede ko ipasuyo sa ate ko or sumunod sakin na pag may dumating pong deliver sa lbc ng passport baka po pwede ko po na sila po ang kumuha sa bahay? Nasa work po kase ako.   28. Yon sister ko ..63 yrs old ..wala kming nakuhang birth certificate ss PSA at sa city hall ng Mla. Ano gagawin nmin para makakuha ng passport? Marriage contract ,voters certificate at senior cizen if meron cya.

  33. Nauunawaan ko na ang pwd ID holder ay hindi klangan ng online application instead ay maaarng walk-in. Paano po kung 2 ang travelling companion? Paano po ang pwede gawin ng mga companion. Sa ngayon mayroon nang updated passport ang pwd ngunit ang travelling companion ay kelangan mag renew. Maaari po bang samahan ng pwd na mag renew ang travelling companion? Nagsubok din pong mag online apply ang companion pero 2 buwan na po walang swerte makakuha ng appointment.
